Haley trying to eat it!

I have always been a fan of ‘wrap type’ infant carriers, opposed to slings and backpack style carriers. The Sync Comfort Wrap Carrier is a cross between them all since you have both comfort and safety snaps.

This soft, stretchy knit wrap is unique and different from any carrier I’ve owned in the past. I have scoliosis, a back issue, so I prefer to use wrap carriers since they distribute the weight evenly. Plus the Sync Comfort Wrap Carrier has a lumbar belt which provides ultimate back support!

Wraps are also marvelous for errands. I like that I can wrap myself before we leave the house, and when we get to the store, I’m already set to go. Just plop the baby in and go. This is a must have for me since I have a toddler and a baby. I usually keep my toddler in the cart (or “buggy” as we call it ’round here) and then wrap my littlest one. Oh and best of all, when I have an infant, I don’t have to worry about strangers touching and kissing her. People tend not to touch her when I have her wrapped close to me. 🙂

Infantino_carrying positions

There are 4 different carrying positions. The front and hip positions are my favorite for Haley (7 months) and the back position is prefect, probably my favorite overall, for my 22lb two-year-old. I only wish there was a front position where the baby was facing out.

As with any wrap, the Sync Comfort Wrap Carrier can be confusing at first. I found the video to be easier to follow than the instruction manual however the process was pretty straight forward and easy to understand.

As long as you are properly using the wrap, it is extremely safe. The panels are wrapped around multiple times, in multiple areas so there’s no risk of them falling out. Just make sure you double knot the final tie. I have used wraps with both of my children and have never had an incident of them falling out.

The colored pattern part isn’t made with the same stretchy material as the rest of it is. They are actually cotton woven panels which help to prevent stretching with wear. And the panels are breathable and light-weight so you don’t have to worry about you or your baby getting too hot.

Infantino Sync Wrap

The wrap for now is only available in one color, which is adorable, and works for both boys and girls. I’m not sure how my husband would feel wearing it, but he won’t wear any of my carriers, so yeah.

The back position was the hardest for me to get situated in. It says it takes two people… and they’re right! You need someone to help hold the child on your back and properly spread the panels, so there’s no chance of them tumbling out.

The picture to the right of me and Natalie is an example of improper wrapping (thanks to my husband), the panels should come up and over her back more (see image above) and the black stretchy pieces should be more evenly distributed across her back, as well as my shoulders for comfort. The video above has some really great shots of proper backpack holding.

UPDATED 12/6 – I had a picture posted showing improper wrapping so those of you could see the difference between good and bad wraps and how you can improve your wrap so that you can safely secure your child… but had to remove it due to those that can’t read the words ‘improper wrapping’ in the picture caption and may be “misinformed about the proper, safe use of the product.”

This wrap is designed for babies and toddlers 8-36lbs. And it’s machine washable! Overall I would recommend this product to a friend and I plan on passing mine down to my cousin after we outgrow it. It’s a simple design, fits nicely into my diaper bag, and is a steal at just $35.
